CARBOTHERA is the world's first high CO2 - enriched water production unit for CO2 foot bath therapy

The heart of the CARBOTHERA™ is the GPH™ membrane developed by MITSUBISHI RAYON.

The GPH™ (gas-permeable hollow fiber) membrane is a new and unprecedented three-layer composite hollow-fiber membrane developed by Mitsubishi Rayon, Japan's longest established synthetic fiber manufacturer. The membrane is composed of a non-porous ultra-thin film with gas-selective permeability that is sandwiched between two porous layers.

The GPH™ membrane conveniently produces large quantities of CO2-enriched water

The principle of CO2 dissolution
The middle layer of the GPH™ membrane allows gasses such as oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide to pass through, but is impermeable to water. When there exists across the membrane a pressure difference in dissolved carbon dioxide within the water. CO2 on the high-pressure side diffuses through the molecular structure of the thin film and dissolves into the water on the low-pressure side.

CO2-enriched water suitable for CO2 foot bath therapy is now easy to make.

Thanks in part to th GPH™ membrane, the CARBOTHERA™ has many desirable features. -Compact size. -Runs on household power. -Easy to use. Learning how to operate the unit takes only a short time. -Requires no chemicals. The resulting CO2-enriched water is clean and clear enough for medical use. -CO2 concentration can be freely adjusted, allowing easy production of CO2-enriched water at the desired concentration. -The production process is short, enabling water temperature to be held constant.
A large number of GPH™ membranes can be bundled together into a module, and the module used to conveniently and inexpensively produce a large amount of water containing a high concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide. CO2-enriched water produced in this way helps with beauty spa treatments and with the effective recovery from sports fatigue.

The unit can be used almost anywhere, anytime, and by anyone

1-Connect a CO2 cylinder to the CARBOTHERA™
2-Use a hose to connect the CARBOTHERA™ to a footbath or other receptacle of a size suitable for bathing the foot.
3-Fill the bath with hot water of the desired temperature.
4-Adjust the CO2 pressure regulator and circulate the gas.
5-Stop the supply of CO2 and disconnect the hose from the bath.
6-Immerse the feet for several minutes.
